Jonathan Bloch, MD, FACS is board-certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in bioengineering from Texas A&M University. He obtained his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. His fellowship focused on the laparoscopic approach to the treatment of colon disease as well as anti-reflux surgery.
He has more than a decade of experience as an attending surgeon in all aspects of general surgery, focusing on minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques. For the last 10 years, he practiced with a 125-physician, multi-specialty group at a 450-bed tertiary care hospital in Melbourne, Fla. He was also an assistant professor of surgery at UCF College of Medicine. He has performed thousands of procedures and has extensive experience in the laparoscopic treatment of benign and malignant colon diseases such as diverticular disease and colon cancer. He was also an early adopter (since the late ‘90s) of the laparoscopic technique for the repair of inguinal, ventral and incisional hernias.
