Abraham Mathai, MD, PhD, became a physician after pursuing a career in neuroscience. He served as a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Tulane University, where he was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. As an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Provider, Dr. Mathai enjoys treating a vast range of medical conditions in both adults and children. Also, he is fascinated by the expanse of medical knowledge that is provided by this dual specialty.
Dr. Mathai’s goal as a provider is to offer personalized care to each and every patient. He believes that the patients who walk into his clinic should not be defined by their medical conditions alone. Instead, he believes in the comprehensive and holistic management of their conditions by taking into consideration their life circumstances.
Dr. Mathai can help you and your child with general wellness, and treats colds, the flu, and sore throats. He also manages and treats chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, obesity, and Parkinson’s disease.
